Check out this lovely 128GB SanDisk USB-C flash drive – it’s available from Amazon for just £11

We’re seeing a lot in the way of USB-C flash drives coming to market as laptops and PCs increasingly opt for the smaller, more powerful connector than the ailing USB-A standard. Take a look at what’s happened with MacBooks over the last few years, and you’ll realise just how ubiquitous USB-C really is these days. For this purpose, a zippy USB-C flash drive is always useful, and their price has come down since their early days. For example, this cute little turquoise candidate from SanDisk offers 128GB of capacity, and is available on Amazon for £11.

The biggest feature of this USB-C flash drive is that it is faster than older USB-A drives. Some of SanDisk’s Ultra USB-A drives offer a maximum speed of 150MB/s, which is on par with some of the best microSD cards, while this USB-C option can deliver speeds of up to 400MB/s, which is on par with a full-fat SATA SSD for desktop PCs. Faster speeds mean faster access to data, both in terms of reading and writing, and this SanDisk drive is one of the fastest flash drives at this price point.

You also get the benefit of 128GB of capacity, which is probably a lot bigger than all your old USB flash drives have in their stack. We’ve reached the point where flash storage (at least for flash drives and microSD cards) has become quite affordable, so buying a massive drive like this is a win-win in terms of both time and performance. You have to spend less time rummaging around in bins or drawers in your office looking for a drive from the lottery of unmarked drives, and you can access your data faster, as well as being able to store a lot more. If you’re someone who deals with large files, such as media files for creative projects, or you need a big drive to install Windows, for example, having a large USB drive like this is quite useful.

This particular drive also comes in a bright turquoise color, which is fun, and gives you the chance to protect the end with its rotating design. Oh, and you can also use it as a USB-A drive with its dual ends, though you’ll be limited to lower speeds with that.

If you want a fast USB-C drive that’s available in a bright colour and with a large capacity, this SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go at £11 is a great deal.
