The first Destiny 2 clan to complete The Final Shape raid has unlocked a final mission for all Guardians, bringing an end to the sci-fi shooter’s sprawling story.
It took the Parabellum clan 19 hours to complete Salvation’s Edge – and that was a huge win – but an even bigger surprise was that as soon as the cut-scene showed the end of Destiny’s epic decade, a secret mission became available to all players, regardless of whether or not they went through the raid itself.
This mission is called Excision – in which 12 players face off in a spectacular climax that will surely shake the heart of even the strongest Guardian.

News of the secret mission spread quickly, however, and several “BAT” errors surfaced related to “players involved in fireteams were unable to view all cutscenes after the Excision activity was completed.” As a result, Bungie advised players to participate in the activity alone, and suggested that anyone who missed the cutscenes could re-watch them in the narrative version of Excision.
Now it seems the issues have been “resolved”, but despite being a 12-man mission, Bungie is still recommending that “players enter the Narrative Edition of Excision with no more than 6 fireteam members for the full experience”.
But that’s not all. Bungie also confirmed that tomorrow, June 10 at 4pm UK time (8am PT), the team will present a livestream detailing “the next year of Destiny 2.”
While some are excited that this presentation might provide more information about the next Destiny adventure, the main part of that message is that it relates to Destiny 2So it’s unlikely that we’ll know much about Destiny 3. However, who knows – Bungie always likes to surprise us!

Of course, some players didn’t have to wait for a formal release date; DLC leaked online after expansion became temporarily available on PS5 shortly before its official launch earlier this week.
