Elden Ring’s creator doesn’t actually mind if you play Elden Ring in co-op

Furthermore, FromSoft is “happy to consider such ideas for our future games.”

Elden Ring Creator Hidetaka Miyazaki doesn’t mind that you play Elden Ring in co-op – even if you’re using the mod for “start to finish” friendship.

In an interview PC GamerFromSoftware president Miyazaki was asked his thoughts on the modding community’s efforts to improve Elden Ring’s features, including the Seamless Co-op mod that allows players to team up beyond just boss fights.

Miyazaki confirmed that while the team deliberately designed a “casual” system in which you can “come in, beat the boss, get out”, it doesn’t “actively oppose or undermine” those Tarnished who prefer to take on the horrors of The Lands Between with a friend alongside them.

“It’s definitely not something we actively oppose or want to downplay, we want to play the whole game in one go,” said Miyazaki. “As far as Elden Ring is concerned, it was simply a matter of wanting a more loose, casual style – get in, beat the boss, get out. It doesn’t put any technical restrictions on the player, it just lets them complete this focus and then move on, so to speak.

“That doesn’t mean we won’t consider other modes, like you and your friend, start to finish, total co-op – it doesn’t mean we won’t consider ideas like that with our future games.”
