Embattled high street chain Game will no longer sell physical games except to fulfil pre-orders.
This is according to one Gfinity The report states that the upcoming new launch will have to be pre-ordered before the launch to pick it up from the stores.
The same goes for video game consoles, with the report adding that you will no longer be able to walk into a shop and buy a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S, outside of hardware launches.

The move would be the latest radical change to GAME’s operations this year, following the end of both of its tenures. Long-running trade-in scheme – This means you can no longer buy or exchange pre-owned games – and with its closure Game Elite Rewards Program,

Eurogamer understands that the changes made to GAME are part of a wider move to have the brand operate primarily within concession units for other stores owned by its parent company Frasers Group – such as Sports Direct.
Much of GAME’s floor space and sales are now taken up by toys and collectibles like Funko Pops. Still, a GAME where you can’t even buy physical games is the chain’s most surprising move yet.
