Nexus Mods user iArtorias actually created the mod to remove the “PlayStation PC SDK runtime requirement for God of War Ragnarok,” though it can also be used to negate PSN linking. The mod — known as NoPSSDK – Removes the PSN overlay, which allows players to link their Steam account to a PlayStation Network account (thanks, PC Gamer,
iArtorias said that he created this mod because “many people faced various unexpected errors and problems while playing God of War Ragnarok on PC, such as sudden error message popups and more”.
iArtorias reported, “This library attempts to solve all possible problems related to the PlayStation PC SDK.” The creator added that the mod makes no changes to the original game code, and “is not intended to promote piracy”.
This mod currently has a total of 1764 downloads.
God of War Ragnarok received a number of negative reviews on Steam shortly after its release on PC. Many of these reviews were aimed at Sony’s controversial requirement for PC users to link to a PSN account.
