Another year, another Ubisoft Forward livestream, with no reference to Beyond Good & Evil 2, the long-awaited sci-fi sequel Ubisoft says it’s still a work in progress,

In January 2023, Ubisoft told Eurogamer that “development on Beyond Good & Evil 2 continues and the team is working hard to deliver on its ambitious promise.”
But its development has faced several setbacks, including the departure of Ubisoft veteran Michel Ancel in 2020.
In 2023, its developer Ubisoft Montpellier was hit with a labour investigation into “unprecedented” levels of stress and illness among employeesand the departure of its managing director.
While it’s been a while since we’ve gotten a proper update on the long-in-development project, fans have been hoping for some sort of update this year, as Ubisoft previously stated that the new version of the original Beyond Good & Evil would launch in 2024.
Ubisoft has yet to comment further on this strange situation, as it has yet to be officially announced. Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition Last year, some fans were unable to play “due to a technical error.”
Ubisoft told Eurogamer in November last year that the project was “scheduled for an early 2024 release”. It’s probably needless to say that this is no longer early 2024 and it’s no longer the 20th anniversary of Beyond Good & Evil.
