Keanu Reeves will star in Sonic x Shadow Generation movie DLC

The news was shared at tonight’s PlayStation State of Play alongside a glimpse of gameplay from the DLC. Shadow has the same furrier design as the film and is seen running around Tokyo in the latest trailer for the film.

Series producer Shun Nakamura said, “This title is developed to satisfy not only fans of the Sonic games, but also those who watch the Sonic movie and become fans of Sonic and Shadow for the first time.” PlayStation Blog,

“But of course, we didn’t expect the Shadows from the film to be included in the game, because the worlds of the film and the game are so different – ​​we thought it would be challenging to do that.

It’s meant to inspire fans to watch the film and then experience it again as part of Sonic x Shadow Generations. The DLC won’t have a strict story directly related to the film, but it is inspired by the Tokyo setting.

Nakamura said of Reeves’ inclusion: “It was an incredibly secretive process, so when we started implementing the voice into the game, we weren’t actually told who the voice was. The voice recording was handled by Iizuka-san in America, so when we got the recorded voice files, we listened to it and realized, is this the same actor…?, so we were also surprised after Paramount’s official announcement!”

The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack is included in the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition. The film will be released on December 21.
