Let’s pixel-peek at what the PS5 Pro can really do

I think Sony must have made a mistake.

not by PS5 Pro costs $700 Or Removing the optical drive – It could always lower the price or bundle it – but by trying to show off the PS5 Pro’s graphical improvements using bandwidth-limited, compressed YouTube videos.

I say this because I’m watching a 5.3GB video file of Sony’s presentation on a 4K OLED screen right now, and I think Corporates can actually tell the difference This happens in some of these games. But this is not necessarily the case on YouTube.

But I don’t want you to take my word for it. I want you to download the lossless PNG screenshot I just captured, so you can look at the pixels with me and decide for yourself!

Important Note: Do not right-click To download the images shown below, don’t even left-click on them – they are just visual aids so you know which image you’ll get. Left click on the link in each caption To load the pictures, then download them; each one should have a file size greater than 4MB. Best of all, you should display them on a large 4K screen, like the one you might use with a PlayStation.

The examples above compare the PS5 Pro to the original PS5’s faster-framerate “Performance” mode, and they’re designed to show that you don’t have to sacrifice graphics for smooth 60fps motion. But if you’re willing to tolerate the lower framerate of “Fidelity” mode, the benefit isn’t as clear:

Sony didn’t provide comparison images for each game, but here are images from other games it used to show the PS5 Pro’s graphics:

if you’re In fact dedicated, I think you can try to find the same moment in the same game on your PS5, take your screenshot, and Use Nvidia’s ICAT tool To look pixelated like a professional.

Is it ridiculous that we’ve come to this point? Maybe! But I don’t want you to think that there’s no difference between PS5 and PS5 Pro graphics at 60fps:

There’s definitely a difference — it just might not be worth $700 to you.
