MetaConnect 2024: The biggest news and announcements

Meta’s annual Connect conference is kicking off in Menlo Park, California, and we’re hoping the company Launched its first AR glassesCodenamed Orion, with lots of AI news.

Over the past year, Meta has made a big effort to integrate AI features into its platforms: whether it’s through its ChatGPT rival, Meta AI, custom creator chatbots in Instagram and WhatsApp, or AI-generated images powered by the company’s Llama model.

There’s also Meta’s smartglasses with Ray-Ban, which we expect to hear updates on. And then there’s the Meta Quest line of headsets, which typically sees big updates at Connect. The event is an opportunity for CEO Mark Zuckerberg to showcase his vision for social media, the metaverse, AI, and everything in between.
