Capcom has announced that its digital showcase – Capcom Next – will take place next week.
The broadcast will last for 25 minutes and will provide us with updates on Kunitsu-gami: Path of the Goddess (which is set to release next month on July 19th) and Resident Evil 7 coming to iPhone/iPad and Mac.
However, the highlight of the show will surely be the first look at Capcom’s Dead Rising remaster, which has been released as a sequel to Dead Rising. It was suddenly announced last night,
Display Airs on all Capcom channels on July 1 at 11pm UK time YouTube, Twitch, Facebook And TIC Toc The studio has said this will not include any updates on Monster Hunter Wilds.
As for the Dead Rising remaster, the studio has touted it as an “updated release with a new look”, and coming to the “latest generation of platforms”. Capcom has not yet shared a launch date for the upcoming release, but we’ll probably find out next week.
Eurogamer loved Dead Rising when the game first came out in 2006.
“It may not have been licensed by George A. Romero,” Tom Bramwell wrote at the time“But it was definitely inspired by him, and it reflects a lot of the emotions he inspires in the audience. And when I stab another sickle in somebody’s neck and blow their head off with my foot, bathing myself in blood, I can’t help but think he would approve of it.”
Hopefully this remaster will evoke a similar feeling.
