netflixThe BioShock adaptation has been “reworked” to make it a “more personal” film with a lower budget.
That’s according to producer Roy Lee, who told fans in a panel at San Diego Comic-Con that changes at the top of Netflix’s movie department have led to budgets being streamlined.
“The new government has reduced the budget,” Lee said. Diversity,
“So we’re doing a much smaller version of it… It’s going to be a more personal approach, not a big, grand project.”
Lee also told the audience that Netflix has also changed its “compensation strategy” so that, like traditional filmmaking studios, bonuses are tied to viewership, a “motivator”.[ing] This should really motivate the producers to take such a step which will help in getting more viewers.”
A screenshot surfaced last week Allegedly taken from Cloud Chamber’s upcoming BioShock game – Codenamed “Parkside” – surfaced online.
While the image itself isn’t particularly exciting – we can see a weapon called the “Ricochet Shotgun” and some sort of weird glowing orb, uh, thing – we do get a look at what the UI looked like at the time the demo was made (supposedly around 2021), and get our first glimpse at some of the powers available to players.
