Upon release, Avatar will include a third-person gameplay mode.
Developer Obsidian confirmed this little tidbit as part of a survey earlier this week. Xbox PodcastsDebuting new footage from the studio’s upcoming RPG, Awakened director Cary Patel casually stated: “Yes, we have a third-person view.”
“Most of the footage we’ll look at today is first-person footage, but we also have a third-person option for players who prefer that,” Patel added.
The Awaud team also reiterated this on social media platform X. PostWhich simply read: “3rd. Person. Gameplay.”
It received a lot of praise from the community. One reply read, “And it’s sold out. Absolutely incredible to watch. I’m all in.”
Others noted it was a change from the studio’s previous release, The Outer Worlds, which focused on first-person.
Avowed is set to launch later this year on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Game Pass from day one. Earlier this week, The studio accidentally dropped the November releaseHowever, it was soon removed from the internet. When Eurogamer asked Microsoft for further comment on the game’s upcoming launch date, it told us that the team would have “more to share soon,” so stay tuned.
