Our best look yet at Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft animated series is here

netflix has given us the best look yet at its upcoming animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

The show is set to make its debut on the streaming service this autumn, and features the singing talents of the MCU’s Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft. It is set to take place after the events of the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy, which includes Tomb Raider (2013), rise of the tomb raider And Shadow of the Tomb Raider,

“Following the events of the Survivor trilogy, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) has abandoned her friends and embarks on increasingly dangerous solo adventures,” the official description reads. “But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with a personal connection to her.”

As you’d expect from Tomb Raider, the upcoming show will feature Lara travelling to a number of exotic locations and – of course – visiting some strange and forgotten tombs. Here, Lara will be forced to “face her true self and decide what kind of hero she wants to be”, the show explains.

Along with Atwell, Earl Bailon is reprising his role as Jonah from the Survivor game trilogy. And, while I can’t say 100 percent right now, I believe Lara is meeting Alex’s computer whiz sister Kaz in the trailer (which you can watch above). Kaz is the first confirmed gay character in the Tomb Raider series, and was Introduced by Rihanna Pratchett in the Tomb Raider comics,
