If you’re looking for freebies, the Epic Games Store has another game for you to add to your calendar, with acclaimed photography puzzle game Toem and zombie rogue-like The Last Stand: Aftermath both confirmed to be given away for free next week.
Starting with Toem, this is a game with chill beats and quirky characters, in which players embark on an expedition across a brilliantly rendered black-and-white world. Along the way, there are light-hearted problems to solve, which will require you to make creative use of your camera.
Christian Donlan called the tome a “cheerful modern classic” their necessary reviewfavoured its “playful challenges and warm sense of place”.
As for next week’s second free Epic Store game, that’ll be The Last Stand: Aftermath , a “single-player standalone action adventure rogue-lite” — and the fifth title in developer Con Artist Games’ zombie-apocalypse-themed The Last Stand series.
Taking on the role of an infected survivor who will inevitably succumb to the zombie virus (at which time a new survivor takes over), players are tasked with exploring the ruins of civilization, gathering materials and crafting valuable items to aid their progression.
Both Toem: A Photography Adventure and The Last Stand: Aftermath will be available to download for free starting next Thursday, September 19, and will be permanently added to your Epic Games Store library, after which a new batch of free games will take their place.
And in case you missed Epic’s current free games – Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland And Super Crazy Rhythm Castle – There is still time to handle them before everything changes.
