Switch 2 won’t face component shortages: Nintendo


Nintendo’s Switch 2 It will not be affected by the same component shortages that plagued the launches of other recent consoles and led to months of product shortages and scalping.

Indeed, Nintendo said it feels positive about its ability to launch and supply the Switch 2 console, as it is taking steps to ensure its expected release next year goes as smoothly as possible.

“We believe the most important countermeasure against reselling is to produce enough units to meet demand,” Furukawa added. “This thinking has not changed since last year. In addition, we are taking into account the circumstances of each region and considering what measures can be taken within the limits allowed by law.”

Nintendo hasn’t yet formally announced the Switch 2 or said when it will arrive, but Eurogamer knows this console will now arrive in 2025Earlier it was planned to launch it by Christmas 2024.

Meanwhile, don’t expect the Switch 1 to be cheap either.

“At the moment, we cannot provide any information about the launch timing or pricing strategy for the successor system,” Furukawa concluded. “Also, we are not currently considering price changes for the Nintendo Switch.”
