The DJI Mini 3 is available right now for just $329, the best price ever

Drones aren’t just fun to fly – they’ve also become almost indispensable in the creative arsenal to satisfy clients and social media followers eager for aerial photography and video. Thankfully, the entry-level price barrier has come down over the past few years.

As you might expect, the Mini 3’s features are a level below the latest Mini 4 slightly cribbed compared to the series and Mini 3 ProFor example, it doesn’t feature omnidirectional vision or object avoidance. The DJI Mini 3 is still surprisingly stable in the air — it weighs just 8.8 ounces and is small enough to rest comfortably in the palm of your hand, whether its collapsible propeller-holding arms are folded or not. However, new pilots should probably stick to more open areas since it only features a downward view to help with landing.

The reliability of the DJI Mini 3 camera also doesn’t match its newer counterparts, although you can still get good results when taking 48MP photos and shooting 4K HDR video at 30 frames per second (or up to 60 frames per second when shooting in 2.7K or 1080p). You can also shoot vertically in addition to horizontally.

One small benefit to its basic features is that its maximum flight time is 38 minutes, which is a few minutes longer than the larger models. And because of its light weight, as long as you’re flying it in the US, you won’t even need to obtain a license before takeoff.
