Developer Mojang has revealed that the next installment of its formerly annual Minecraft Live digital showcase will air on September 28, marking the first edition to air following the studio’s recently announced format changes.
More specifically, a “new look” at Minecraft Live will air on Saturday, September 28 at 6 PM BST/1 PM EDT. It can be viewed via Minecraft WebsiteYoutube, or crampsand promises “news about our games, content creators and more.”
Notably, however, it won’t see the return of Mojang Increasingly controversial Crowd Vote, which the studio confirmed was retiring earlier this month. The news came alongside the announcement that Minecraft Live is abandoning its traditional annual format, and will now air twice a year. This new edition will be “the place to learn about the latest features we’re working on, what’s coming in testing, and the latest news from the Minecraft franchise.” Perhaps we’ll see a lot more of that Definitely looks suspicious Live-action Minecraft movie.
Mojang’s Minecraft Live makeover isn’t the only change in the works for the mega-popular survival game. The studio has made a number of other changes as well. Recently confirmed extensive changes to its content release schedule The blockbuster sandbox adventure will swap its traditional single summer update for multiple content drops throughout the year. This, it said, will help satisfy players’ desire for “new Minecraft content more frequently.”
Mojang’s first update for Minecraft, following the announcement released earlier this week, brings bug fixes, gameplay changes and a new experimental bundle feature – allowing players to put different blocks or items together in the same inventory slot to save space.
