Our Ideas about vampires passed developed significantly Since F.W. Murnau Nosferatu: Symphony of Horror debuted on the silver screen, but the first teaser trailer Robert Eggers‘ Remake It looks like this will be a dystopian, horrifying return to undead basics.
Set in 19th century Germany, Nosferatu It tells the story of how an unsuspecting woman named Ellen Hutter (Lily Rose-Depp) becomes the latest obsession and target of Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård) – a Transylvanian nobleman and famous vampire. It’s clear that Orlok already has some degree of influence over Ellen in the teaser as she wonders if the dangerous longing she’s feeling is a sign of the evil that lives within him. But while Ellen is somewhat convinced that she’s being pursued by an otherworldly ghost, very few people around her other than Professor Albin Eberhardt von Franz (Willem Dafoe) know just how much danger they’re all in.
With shots of ominous shadows stretching across the sky, the trailer shows that, just like the 1922 film, Nosferatu (which was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel) Dracula novel), Eggers’ film will highlight how Orlok’s presence sparks a kind of slow-burning hysteria that forces people to question their beliefs and faith. And while it seems like the film’s mortal characters will put up a fight, it’s pretty clear that more than a handful of them will be out of their depth when Nosferatu Will be released in theatres on 25th December.
