Will Wright, creator of the sims and co-founder of its developer maxishas shared fresh information about its upcoming AI life sim, Proxy.
it was a game First announced in 2018 And a gameplay trailer was shared a month ago by its developer Gallium Studios to explain its concept. Then yesterday, Wright came forward cramps To discuss the development of the game (as seen). pc gamer,
Proxy is a dreamlike life sim where players train an AI to create a world from their memories. Players record a memory via text, known as a “meme”, which the game interprets and creates into an animated scene using assets created by the developers (and eventually by the players as well).
These scenes can be edited by players to alter details. Players then “train their proxy’s brain with each new memory” by placing them on a memory timeline and mindmap to make connections.
Players also place these memories in a personal mind-world made of terraformable hexagons, while sentiment analysis will alter the world according to the feelings of the memories held within. It will also be possible to create a shared world with others.
The trailer shows that players can add proxies of friends and family to their world, play games together, and export them to another world – using Minecraft and Roblox as examples.
But breakthrough1d twitch streamWright explained why he wanted to use the players’ actual memories for a personalized experience.
“I found myself constantly getting closer to the player,” he said. “A kind of adage I live by is that no game designer has ever gone wrong by pandering to the narcissism of his players.”
He laughed: “It turns out that the more I can make a game about you, the more you’ll like it.”

Wright appears keen to explore different notions and philosophies of memory by proxy. It certainly sounds like a powerful tool and a clever concept, although the perception of AI has changed substantially in the six years since its initial disclosure. I suspect that Gallium Studios is struggling to fully explain the proxy.
AI is changing the future of game development As it becomes more widespread throughout the industry. recently Google unveils its Genie2 tool It claims it can create playable 3D worlds.
