Bandai Namco will shut down the servers for its anime MMORPG Blue Protocol in Japan and has canceled its release in the West.
Blue Protocol will be released in Japan in June 2023, with the upcoming Western release handled by Amazon Games.

“We know this is disappointing news, and we share your disappointment. We love the world and characters of Blue Protocol, and we were excited to welcome players from around the world to Regnas. We express our deep gratitude to the passionate fans who followed the development of Blue Protocol with Bandai Namco online and participated in closed technical testing.”
In addition, a Bandai Namco’s statement It reads: “We’ve built a strong relationship with Amazon Games throughout the development of Blue Protocol, and both of our teams are disappointed that we won’t be able to deliver the game to players around the world.
“We know there has been a lot of excitement for Blue Protocol since the game was first announced. We wanted to provide an experience that was like stepping into the world of the anime, and we’ve been challenging ourselves to create a world where every player can enjoy the adventure as the main character of the anime. We’ve worked hard to prepare for the release; however, we’ve come to the conclusion that it won’t be possible to provide a service that satisfies all of you.”

The Japanese servers will remain online until Saturday January 18, 2025.
