WhatsApp appears to be working on a new generative AI feature that will allow users to create a personalized avatar of themselves for use in any imaginable setting. The feature, under development, has been spotted in a new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.14.7 WABetaInfoIt will use a combination of user-provided images, text prompts, and Meta’s AI Llama model to generate the images.
A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo says that users can imagine themselves “in any setting from the jungle to outer space.” These examples seem fairly typical for those produced by an AI generator, especially if you’ve used an app like Lensa AI Or Snapchat’s “Dreams” selfie feature,
To create personalized avatars, WhatsApp users will need to “take a photo of themselves once,” which will be used to train the Meta AI to create images of what the user is like in any setting. WhatsApp users will then be able to create their avatars by typing “Imagine me” along with details of the setting. Meta AI ChatOr by typing “@Meta AI imagine me…” in other WhatsApp conversations
The feature will reportedly be optional, and users will have to manually enable it in WhatsApp settings before using it. WABetaInfo It is also said that reference images can be removed at any time via the Meta AI settings.
