Written and directed by Andrew Haigh, and inspired by Taichi Yamada’s novel “Strangers,” the film stars Andrew Scott (Pride, TV’s “Ripley”), Paul Mescal (Aftersun, TV’s “Normal People”), Jamie Bell (Rocketman, Movie Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool) and Claire Foy (The Electrical Life of Louis Wayne, TV’s “The Crown”).
Film synopsis
One night in his nearly empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a surprise visit from mysterious neighbour Harry (Paul Mescal), who disrupts the rhythm of his everyday life. As their relationship develops, Adam becomes nostalgic and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) live just as they did on the day of their deaths 30 years ago.
