YouTube has launched an improved eraser tool that lets creators remove copyrighted music from their videos, while leaving other audio intact. The new tool, released this week, is First reported TechCrunch,
The company announced in a video that the Erase Song feature allows creators to silence copyrighted music in their content. The tool was previously available as a beta feature, but it wasn’t always accurate.
The updated Erase Song feature uses an “AI-powered algorithm” to help more accurately identify and remove copyrighted songs without affecting other audio in a particular clip. At least that’s the goal.
But even the new and improved version may not always deliver accurate results. So in cases where the tool fails to get rid of copyrighted content, creators can mute all sound in parts of the video that have been flagged for copyrighted content.
of youtube support page says the Erase Song tool “may not work if the song is difficult to remove,” so muting the audio may help remove the Content ID claim against the video.
